Soaring AQI, Toxic Foam in Yamuna!
AAM janta suffers!
As the mud-slinging & passing the buck continues governments as to whose responsibility is it to control the explosive environmental hazard which Delhi & NCR people are facing, it is the people who are yet again, are left to suffer & bear the brunt.
The effects are to be seen all across. Fueled by the festive season, the AQI has soared to extremely dangerous levels which is equivalent to smoking 18 cigarettes a day. As people grapple with various respiratory issues & breathing discomfort. the situation continues to worsen, with no immediate relief in sight. Schools have been forced to shut, outdoor activities are restricted, and hospitals are overwhelmed with patients suffering from air pollution-related ailments. Meanwhile, the government, instead of taking swift action, continues to engage in blame games, diverting attention away from the urgent need for collaborative and effective solutions.
What is clear is that this is no longer a political issue but a public health crisis. It is high time that governments start taking responsibility, prioritizing the health and safety of citizens over petty political squabbles. The people of Delhi and NCR deserve more than just empty promises and finger-pointing; they deserve immediate, sustainable action to address this environmental disaster.
Until then, it will be the citizens who continue to breathe in toxic air, while their leaders remain caught in a cycle of denial and indifference. The need for a comprehensive, multi-pronged approach involving stricter enforcement of laws against stubble burning, promotion of green technologies, and better air quality monitoring has never been more urgent. If the situation is to improve, both state and central governments must work together, with the active participation of citizens, to find a lasting solution.
